PROCLAIM TO A HAPU OR COLLECTIVE
PROCLAMATION GUIDANCE Remember, each Hapū employs their unique authoritative Tikanga (Law) within their respective jurisdictions. A Collective that has proclaimed association with a Hapū must abide to the tikanga of the Hapū that it is associated with. If you wish to join a Hapū or a Collective, please express your thoughts. What makes you want to join? What are you passionate about? What is something you are grateful or eager for? What are your worries? We will forward this to the most suitable Hapū or Collective secretary. They may invite you for a video conversation, though often the Chiefs and Elders have a greater desire for you to meet them face to face. If there are no available Hapū or Collectives in your region, participation through the internet is an option (though the Hapū decides). Another option may be to proclaim your own Hapū or Collective if you have the people. |
